MAC-11 (Military Armament Corporation Model 11) is a subcompact machine pistol developed by American gun designer Gordon Ingram at the Military Armament Corporation (MAC) during the 1970s. The MAC-11’s absurdly high rate of fire also causes it to have rather poor accuracy, which led International Association of Police Chiefs weapons researcher David Steele to jokingly describe the MAC-11 as a weapon “only fit for combat inside a phone booth”. A known complaint about the MAC-11 is its excessive cyclic rate of 1200 rounds per minute, or 20 rounds per second, which allows the user to empty the magazine in a mere two seconds, though the rate of fire can be varied by using differently weighted bullets in the weapon. The MAC-11’s safety is located forward of the trigger and is pushed forward to lock the trigger up, preventing one from firing the weapon. The charging handle is located on the top of the receiver, and can be rotated 90° to lock it in place, thereby preventing the weapon from being charged. The weapon’s sights are open with a pinhole sight drilled into the rear of the receiver. The MAC-11 is essentially a scaled-down version of the MAC-10, and as such, performs identically.
